The Lighthouse

The Lighthouse

The Lighthouse is the UK's first net zero-carbon house to meet Level 6 (the highest level) of the Code for Sustainable Homes. The heart of the concept for this prototype home is the ambition to create homes where innovative environmental design and construction methods do not comproise the quality of the occupants' life, but add to it, creating adaptable, flexible spaces designed for sustainable modern living. The highly efficient building envelope was constructed using Kingspan Off-Site's TEK Building System and is clad in sweet chestnut. The Lighthouse generates all its electricity and heat on plot from renewable sources and has a regulated energy consumption of just 49KWhr/m2/yr.
